Diya is testing an online divorce service
Beta testing has begun in Ukraine for a new, revolutionary service in the “Diya” app: online divorce.
This new digital service will allow citizens to complete the entire legal process of divorce remotely, without any paperwork or the need to visit government offices in person.
This will significantly simplify bureaucratic procedures and streamline the work of civil registry offices.
The developers are creating a unique service that fully automates the divorce process.
The updated process will look like this: submitting an application electronically via a phone or computer, a mandatory waiting period as defined by Ukrainian law, and participating in a video conference with a civil registry office employee instead of visiting the office in person.
The final step will be receiving the documents: the digital certificate will automatically be uploaded to the “Diya” app, and the original paper copy will be sent by mail.
The developers are inviting adult Ukrainians who have mutually agreed to end their relationship to participate in testing this new feature.
However, not everyone who wishes to do so will be able to use the service during the initial testing phase.
The couple must meet specific and mandatory criteria: both partners must have a verified RNOKPP (tax ID number), have an ID card or a biometric passport registered in “Diia,” and an official marriage certificate must already be reflected in the app.
This was reported by the state-owned enterprise’s press service on its official Telegram channel.
