Law enforcement officials extradited to Ukraine the former director of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Culture and Arts, who had previously been sentenced to nine years in prison for embezzlement.
According to police, between 2017 and 2021, the former official embezzled nearly 800,000 hryvnias worth of the institution’s property. After the investigation began, he left Ukraine and was subsequently placed on an international wanted list.
In March 2026, a court found him guilty under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to nine years in prison.
The man was recently located in Estonia and subsequently extradited to Ukraine to serve his sentence.
According to media reports, the individual in question is Andriy Klymenko, the former head of a cultural center; however, the police have not officially disclosed his name.
