A motion to appoint a new Cabinet has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada

The Verkhovna Rada has received a proposal from Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi regarding the appointment of a new Cabinet of Ministers. This was announced by Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk.

According to him, the following nominations have been submitted to parliament:

  • Denys Shmyhal — First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy of Ukraine;
  • Tetyana Berezhna — First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine;
  • Vsevolod Chentsov — Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine;
  • Vitaliy Bezgin — Minister of Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine;
  • Matviy Bidny — Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine;
  • Andriy Butenko — Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine;
  • Ivan Vygivsky — Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine;
  • Taras Vysotsky — Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine;
  • Mykola Kalashnyk — Minister of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine;
  • Vitaliy Kim — Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine;
  • Oleksandr Kravchenko — Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine;
  • Viktor Lyashko — Minister of Health of Ukraine;
  • Serhiy Marchenko — Minister of Finance of Ukraine;
  • Denis Maslov — Minister of Justice of Ukraine;
  • Denis Ulyutin — Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine;
  • Oksana Ferchuk — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Stefanchuk noted that the Verkhovna Rada will consider the nominations in the near future in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada, and the Law of Ukraine “On the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.”

As a reminder, on July 16, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhiy Koretskyi as Prime Minister of Ukraine. His nomination was supported by 289 members of parliament.

Serhiy Koretskyi commented on the possible appointment of Ihor Klymenko as Ukraine’s Minister of Defense. He stated that he considers Klymenko a strong and professional leader, but the final decision on the candidate for head of the defense ministry rests with the president.
