A World War II veteran celebrated her 106th birthday in Kherson

Olga Budnikova, a resident of Kherson and a World War II veteran, celebrated her 106th birthday.

According to Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Olga Budnikova was born in 1919 in the village of Shenshinivka in the Kursk region. From April 1942 to September 1946, she served in the military and held the rank of second lieutenant.

After the war, her husband, military pilot Dmytro Budnikov, was demobilized, and the family moved to Kherson. There, Olga Budnikova worked as a commodity expert in the construction industry.

“Her life story is an example of dignity, resilience, and an unbreakable spirit,” Shanko noted, congratulating her on the holiday.

Olga Budnikova is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kherson.
