The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine commented on rumors of long lines of trucks at the border

Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, refuted media reports claiming that nearly 5,000 trucks had become physically stranded at the border for up to six days due to shelling of the ports in the Greater Odesa area.

According to him, this figure reflects only the total number of vehicles registered in the “YeCherga” system. Thanks to the electronic queue system, drivers do not need to wait at border crossing points in advance, so there are not actually that many trucks waiting to leave Ukraine.

Instead, actual traffic queues are observed on the side of neighboring countries at the border crossings into Ukraine, where the electronic queue system is not in effect. The increase in passenger traffic to 130,000–150,000 people per day is due solely to the summer vacation season.
