Two Ukrainian citizens were sentenced to 15 years for serving in the Russian military

The court found two Ukrainian citizens guilty of treason and sentenced each to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the men resided in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. In early 2026, they voluntarily signed contracts with the Russian Armed Forces, underwent training in Mariupol, and fought as part of assault units against the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In May 2026, they were captured by Ukrainian troops during fighting in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In court, both fully admitted their guilt.
