Ukraine's Economy Has Begun to Grow — State Statistics Service

Ukraine’s economy returned to growth in the second quarter of 2026 following a slight decline at the beginning of the year.

According to the State Statistics Service, real GDP in April–June grew by 0.6% compared to the same period last year. When compared to the first quarter of 2026, adjusted for seasonal factors, the economy grew by 0.4%.

In the first quarter of this year, the State Statistics Service recorded a 0.6% decline in real GDP; however, in the second quarter, the economy returned to positive growth.

In May 2026, Ukraine’s real GDP grew by 0.9% year-over-year, continuing the recovery trend. Positive growth has been recorded for the third consecutive month following a decline at the beginning of the year.

In the first half of 2026, expenditures from the general fund of Ukraine’s state budget totaled 2.23 trillion UAH, which is 354.1 billion UAH (or nearly 19%) more than in the same period last year.
