Zelenskyy signed a law granting new rights to former military personnel with criminal records
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that expands the rights of military personnel who have been conditionally and prematurely discharged to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The document provides them with additional social guarantees, the right to a transfer, and new grounds for discharge from service.
From now on, after one year of service and the removal of administrative supervision, such service members are eligible for 15 days of annual basic leave, as well as other types of leave, including after release from captivity or in connection with the birth of a child.
In addition, the law allows for the transfer of former convicts to other units. If a military medical commission confirms health issues, they will be able to serve in support and logistics units, territorial recruitment and social support centers (TRSCs and SSCs), as well as in military educational institutions.
The document also expands the grounds for early termination of a contract, particularly in cases of disability resulting from injury or following release from captivity.

Prior to this, Bill No. 15431 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which provides for a large-scale reform of the hunting industry, the digitization of the sector, and changes to hunting regulations. At the same time, the bill has already drawn sharp criticism from animal welfare and environmental organizations, which are calling on members of parliament to reject it as early as the first reading.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the mandates of MPs Denys Maslov and Vitaliy Bezgin, who were members of the “Servant of the People” faction. Parliament adopted the relevant resolutions at a plenary session on July 17.
