Former official Grushko declared a VAZ, while his daughter declared a Mercedes worth $120,000
Vasyl Hrusko, the former head of the Khmilnytskyi District Office of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Vinnytsia Oblast, declared fairly modest assets and income, but after his dismissal, several luxury cars with a total value of about $250,000 were registered in the name of his 21-year-old daughter. This discrepancy between the family’s official income and the value of their assets drew attention to the former official’s declaration.
In his 2025 declaration, Hrusko stated that he earned about 104,000 hryvnias during his three months of employment, his wife earned approximately 150,000 hryvnias, and the family held 100,000 hryvnias in cash. The only vehicle listed in the documents was a 2007 VAZ. Their daughter, Kateryna, lived with her parents, had no official job, and was not listed as the owner of any property or vehicles.
In 2026, after Hrusko had already been dismissed, a 2019 Mercedes-Benz G 500, a 2022 BMW X6, and a 2022 BMW X7 were registered in Kateryna’s name, the latter under a gift agreement. The total estimated value of the vehicle fleet is approximately $250,000–$252,000. Additionally, a parking space in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv was registered in her name back in 2024.
Despite the lack of significant official income, Kateryna recently registered as a sole proprietor in the second group of the single tax system. According to journalists, this level of income does not explain the acquisition of such expensive assets. After leaving public service, Vasyl Hrusko found employment at an agro-industrial enterprise linked to the family of former People’s Deputy Petro Yurchyshyn. Since he left public service in 2025, he is no longer required to file a 2026 declaration, and the property registered in his daughter’s name after his resignation is not formally subject to automatic checks by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK).
