The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has joined the effort to raise funds for 10 new ambulances
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has joined the new UNITED24 fundraising campaign. Its goal is to raise $1.2 million for ten state-of-the-art ambulances for Ukrainian medical professionals. The vehicles are planned to be fully equipped with technology that helps save lives during transport to the hospital.
The initiative was announced by Andriy Sibiga, Ukraine’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs. According to him, the new fundraiser is intended to strengthen emergency medical care in Ukraine, which operates daily amid Russian attacks. “Every day, Russia terrorizes civilians across Ukraine, killing and wounding them with drone and missile strikes. After every attack, every second counts,” Sibiga emphasized.
He explained that modern ambulances are needed by medical personnel not only to quickly transport the wounded to the hospital. “Modern ambulances are not just a means of transportation. They are mobile intensive care units that allow medical professionals to provide life-saving care even before the patient arrives at the hospital,” the foreign minister noted.
What the new ambulances will include
The ambulances, which are planned to be purchased with funds from the collection, will be fully equipped with medical equipment. Specifically, they will include oxygen delivery systems, ventilators, defibrillator-monitors, and capnographs.
The ambulances will also be equipped with electrocardiographs capable of remotely transmitting ECG data and monitors for tracking the patient’s vital signs. The package will also include stretchers, infusion therapy equipment, GPS navigation, video recorders, climate control systems, and parking sensors. This equipment should enable medical personnel to provide necessary care while en route and transport patients more safely.
How Many Ambulances Has Ukraine Lost Due to the War?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that in 2025 alone, Ukrainian emergency medical teams responded to over 4.5 million calls. At the same time, due to the full-scale war, the Ukrainian emergency medical system has lost hundreds of vehicles. Since the start of the Russian invasion, 495 ambulances have been destroyed or damaged. Of these, 46 were lost in 2026 alone.
The ministry emphasizes that the need for new vehicles remains high, as medical personnel continue to work amid shelling and respond to victims in various regions of the country. A previous joint fundraising campaign by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also aimed at supporting Ukrainian defenders. Over the past year, the campaign raised more than $790,000, or nearly 35 million hryvnias. These funds were used to purchase ground-based robotic systems.
Now, funds are being raised for medical aid. “Every new ambulance will help save thousands of lives,” Sibiga emphasized, calling on people to contribute to the UNITED24 fundraiser. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ press service.
In Ukraine, courts found four officials guilty of providing false information in their 2024 asset declarations and imposed fines on them based on evidence from the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK).
