Former Director of a State Enterprise Under the Ministry of Internal Affairs Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison for Causing 16 Million Hryvnias in Losses to the State
The High Anti-Corruption Court handed down a verdict to Yuhannan Babayev, the former director of the Ministry of Internal Affairs state-owned enterprise “Inform-Resursy,” in a case involving losses to the state totaling more than 16 million hryvnias. The court found him guilty of a series of criminal offenses and sentenced him to nine years in prison with confiscation of property.
According to the investigation, in 2018, Babaev, together with his deputy, illegally disposed of real estate belonging to the state-owned enterprise in central Kyiv. He then left for the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast and, as noted, subsequently began conducting business in Russia.
The court also ordered the former director to pay more than 16.7 million hryvnias in damages and returned real estate and a land plot in Kyiv, valued at approximately 187.5 million hryvnias, to state ownership.
