Energoatom has completed repairs on four power units ahead of winter

NAEK “Energoatom” continues to prepare Ukrainian nuclear power plants for the fall-winter season. The company has already completed scheduled maintenance work on four power units and is preparing the facilities for stable operation during the cold season.

“NAEK’s main task is to bring all power units up to full capacity by mid-November so that they are operating at maximum capacity before the start of the heating season,” he emphasized.

Currently, Energoatom operates nine power units at the South Ukraine, Rivne, and Khmelnytskyi NPPs, with a total capacity of 7,880 MW, all of which are located in territory controlled by Ukraine.

The Zaporizhzhia NPP, with six power units totaling 6,000 MW, has been occupied since March 2022 and is not generating electricity.

This was announced by the company’s CEO, Pavlo Kovtoniuk.

Energoatomis preparing all power units to operate at full capacity.

Energoatom has announced an international competition for the position of chairman of the board.

Previously, NAEK “Energoatom” officially received a license to operate a nuclear facility. On May 28, the company was issued a license to operate the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF), allowing it to begin full-scale operations in accordance with safety requirements.

NAEK “Energoatom” reported that it is nearing the midpoint of the scheduled maintenance campaign at Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
