Epiphany revealed Patriarch Filaret's final prophecy
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, during the funeral service at St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral, the Primate of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, spoke about his last meeting with the late Patriarch.

According to Epiphany, the 97-year-old hierarch, while in the hospital in critical condition, confidently told the clergy that he would definitely be at the cathedral the following Sunday. These words came true today, when Filaret’s body arrived at the church where he had served for over 60 years for the farewell ceremony.
The Metropolitan emphasized the spiritual strength and foresight of the deceased, noting that the Patriarch had returned to his see in prayer, just as he had promised. In his eulogy, Epiphanius also recalled private conversations about love as the foundation of faith and assured the congregation that Filaret’s life’s work regarding the development of the Ukrainian Church would continue. The Primate stressed the importance of praying for the victory of truth and a just peace for Ukraine amid the ongoing aggression by the Russian Federation.
