The EU has provided Ukraine with over 25 million euros to modernize kindergartens
On March 24, 2026, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi announced that the European Union would provide over 25 million euros in funding for the safety and renovation of preschool education facilities.
The funds, approved by the Ukraine Investment Framework Steering Committee, will be used to equip dual-purpose shelters, create barrier-free environments, and establish safe learning spaces. The project will be implemented in partnership with the World Bank under the LEARN program.
The selection of communities to participate in the program will be conducted through a transparent digital system, with priority given to regions most affected by Russian aggression. The initiative aims to restore access to preschool education and create conditions for parents to return to work, which will contribute to the economic recovery of communities. In addition to modernizing facilities, support is provided for education sector employees to ensure a high-quality educational process under martial law.
