The EU has called on Ukraine's government to unite in support of reforms and continued funding

The European Union expects the Ukrainian authorities to work together on the reforms necessary for European integration and to receive further financial support. This was stated by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos during a meeting of the Ukrainian Donors’ Platform in Brussels, attended by Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.

Kos emphasized that, for the EU, funding and reforms must proceed in parallel. According to her, Ukraine’s implementation of the agreed-upon reforms opens the door to receiving an additional 2.9 billion euros under the “Ukraine Plan.”

“Implement the agreed-upon reforms so that we can continue to provide you with financial support,” the European Commissioner said.

Among the key areas, she cited the strengthening of state institutions, effective management of public finances, functioning markets, an independent judiciary, the rule of law, and the fight against corruption. Kos noted that these changes are important not only for Ukraine’s accession to the EU but also for its security and for attracting investment.

Separately, the European Commissioner called for unity among Ukraine’s state institutions. She used the Ukrainian word “toloka,” explaining it as a community working together on a task that is difficult to accomplish alone.

According to Kos, the government, the Verkhovna Rada, and other state institutions must join forces to implement reforms. At the same time, she emphasized that Ukraine’s donors must also work together to secure the necessary funding.
