Fire Point may lose the ability to supply products to the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the Ministry of Defense
Fire Point, a company in the defense-industrial complex, risks losing contracts to supply products to the Armed Forces due to its alleged ties to Timur Mindich, a businessman subject to sanctions. Nationalization is the solution.
This was reported by the Public Anti-Corruption Council (PAC) under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The PAC stated that it has received unverified but compelling evidence of ties between former Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, sanctioned businessman Timur Mindich, and the company “Fire Point.” In other words, Mindich is the sole or one of the beneficiaries of Fire Point, and legal confirmation of this fact—particularly through a court ruling—would automatically deprive the company of the right to work on state defense contracts.
Timur Mindich is currently on sanctions lists, which makes any cooperation with entities under his control impossible for the defense ministry. In the GAR’s statement regarding the “Midas” case, it is noted that the former defense minister shared this position.
Earlier, MP Oleksandr Dubinsky claimed there was a “backroom deal” between anti-corruption agencies (NABU/SAPO) and Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s inner circle, which is allegedly why new transcripts of conversations between Timur Mindich and Rustem Umerov are not being made public.
