In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers quickly tracked down and detained a man who had opened fire in the regional capital and threatened a passerby with a gun.
The suspect, who was either intoxicated or in an aggressive state, fired a series of shots into the air on Shevchenko Street and then attempted to flee in his own car.
The incident occurred on July 1 at approximately 11:30 p.m., when the first report of a serious disturbance of public order was received via the “102” emergency hotline.
According to preliminary reports, an unidentified man on Shevchenko Street fired approximately nine shots into the air from a shotgun. Fortunately, no civilians were injured as a result of these actions.
After committing the offense, the man got into his Chrysler Grand Voyager and began driving toward Yavoriv.

However, the incidents did not end there—information later came in about a new crime involving the same driver. In the village of Birky, the armed man stopped and began threatening a young woman with his weapon.
Significant police forces were deployed to apprehend the dangerous suspect, including operatives, investigators, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, and patrol officers from Lviv Oblast.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of law enforcement officers, the suspect’s identity was established in the shortest possible time. He turned out to be a 40-year-old native of Zaporizhzhia Oblast who had previously served in the military.
This was reported by the Lviv Regional Police.
