Getmantsev wants to extend the 50% tax on banks
Danylo Getmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Finance Committee, plans to introduce a bill to extend the higher tax rate on bank profits.
He announced this on Telegram.
The proposal involves maintaining the rate at 50% in 2027.
According to Getmantsev, the decision must be made in advance to avoid sudden changes in tax policy.
He explained that currently, the main source of banks’ profits is transactions with government securities, rather than lending or innovation.
The MP emphasized that the collected taxes are used to finance the army.
At the same time, he expressed his readiness to engage in discussions with the regulator, banks, and relevant associations.
Individual entrepreneurs who have losttheir businesses due to the war can apply for compensation.
