Getmantsev stated that the head of the NBU is ignoring invitations to attend the TSC meeting regarding the Sens Bank case
Danylo Getmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, stated that Andriy Pyshnyy, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, is ignoring official invitations to attend meetings of the Temporary Investigative Commission (TIC).
Lawmakers are attempting to investigate possible abuses and large-scale violations in the financial institution’s operations.
According to Getmantsev, TSC members want clear and comprehensive explanations from the head of the Central Bank regarding the functioning of questionable financial flows.
In particular, lawmakers are interested in the use of P2P transfers (transactions between individuals’ cards) by gambling operators to evade taxation.
In addition, the commission seeks to determine the reasons for granting preferential acquiring terms to certain market participants, which could have caused significant losses to the state budget.
The parliamentary committee suspects that a large-scale scheme to service the illegal gambling business has been operating for a long time.
Lawmakers are seeking to determine why the regulator did not block these transactions in a timely manner and whether there was a deliberate lack of oversight.
