Andriy Pyshnyy, Head of the NBU, Has Become the New Pop Star of Ukrainian Show Business — Bereza
Former MP Boryslav Bereza criticized the participation of Andriy Pyshny, head of the National Bank of Ukraine, in the music video “The Hryvnia Is Created by People.”
In his post, Bereza called the video “horribly cringey” and stated that the NBU head should have focused on issues of financial monitoring, banking supervision, and reporting to parliamentary committees.
The politician also drew attention to the video’s funding. According to him, the video’s description states that it was created to mark the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s monetary reform in collaboration with the NBU, and PrivatBank is listed among the partners.
Berez called on Pyshny to disclose the project’s budget and reveal who commissioned it and how much the National Bank chairman’s musical debut cost.
“The new pop star of Ukrainian show business—Andriy Pyshnyy,” Bereza concluded ironically.

Separately, the NBU head noted that Sense Bank’s supervisory board currently lacks a quorum and is therefore not authorized to act. The regulator emphasizes the need to complete the board’s composition by appointing state representatives from the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant Verkhovna Rada committee.
JSC “SENS Bank” is mentioned in the “Forrest Gump” case files as one of the channels through which funds were transferred in connection with the payment of a 150 million hryvnia bail bond for former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko. Danylo Getmantsev, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax, and customs policy, categorically denied any involvement in attempts to gain control over Sens Bank or in the new criminal proceedings initiated by NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO).
