A hotel in Polianytsia was fined 350,000 hryvnias for poisoning children

In the village of Polianytsia, the "NACIKU" hotel was fined approximately 350,000 hryvnias for violating a temporary ban on the sale of food products, which resulted in five children from Kyiv seeking medical attention. The establishment continued to serve food to guests despite an order from the State Food and Consumer Service issued during an investigation into an outbreak of acute intestinal infection.

The incident involving the children from Kyiv occurred on June 6–7; they were not hospitalized. Currently, experts have conducted a follow-up state inspection, issued a report for non-compliance with the order, and again issued a directive to rectify violations in food safety.

Following this, the market operator voluntarily suspended food service at the facility until the epidemiological investigation is complete. In light of this situation, the State Food and Consumer Service urges leaders of children’s groups to verify in advance the registration of private recreational facilities, the implementation of the HACCP system, water safety, and the approval of children’s menus.

This was reported on Facebook by the Main Department of the State Food and Consumer Service in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

More than 20 schoolchildren from the Ternopil region were poisoned while on vacation at a hotel in the Bukovel resort. Four children in serious condition were hospitalized in the infectious diseases ward of the Yaremche City Hospital. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

Five Ukrainian citizens are among the crew members of the MV Hondius, where an outbreak of hantavirus was detected. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that no signs of a deterioration in their health have been detected so far.
