The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rate for the dollar at 44.26 UAH and for the euro at 51.43 UAH. Following a previous decline, the hryvnia strengthened by 3 kopecks over the past 24 hours.
The NBU also set the official euro-to-hryvnia exchange rate for May 29 at 51.4363 UAH/EUR, strengthening the hryvnia by 11 kopecks over the day.
According to data from specialized websites as of Friday morning:
in banks, the dollar is trading at an average rate of 43.97 UAH for buying and 44.47 UAH for selling, while the euro is trading at 51.19 UAH and 51.85 UAH, respectively;
at currency exchange offices, the dollar is trading at an average rate of 44.10 UAH for buying and 44.25 UAH for selling, while the euro is trading at 51.55 UAH and 51.75 UAH, respectively.
The official dollar exchange rate has once again broken a historic record.
For comparison, the day before (May 26), the official exchange rates were 44.24 hryvnia per dollar and 51.52 hryvnia per euro.
The total amount of deposits held by individuals and sole proprietors in Ukrainian banks rose by 40.1 billion hryvnia in April, reaching 1.68 trillion hryvnia.
