The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a mechanism for compensating utility costs at evacuation centers

The Ukrainian government has officially introduced a new procedure for reimbursing housing and utility costs for facilities hosting evacuated citizens.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko announced the decision.

The state program will cover not only standard rent but also the cost of liquefied petroleum gas, as well as solid and liquid household heating fuels.

According to her, the new initiative is aimed at supporting organizations and individuals who provide for the immediate needs of displaced persons.

“We are introducing a clear reimbursement mechanism for owners or tenants of evacuation collection points, intermediate points, transit centers, and reception points where evacuees stay until further relocation or resettlement,” she says.

This approach will help avoid debts at temporary shelters.

The procedure for submitting documents to receive payments has been simplified as much as possible and has moved to a digital format.

From now on, you can submit the relevant application for compensation online through your personal account on the official e-services portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

According to the regulations, payments will be made on a regular basis.

Financial assistance will be credited to property owners monthly by the 25th, allowing for prompt payment to energy suppliers.

As a reminder, the government has expanded housing rental compensation for veterans.

The government has also submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada regarding compensation for destroyed housing.
