A company commander and a brigade sergeant are suspected of extorting money from a soldier
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a company commander and a senior non-commissioned officer from one of the brigades, according to the investigation, demanded 200,000 hryvnias from a subordinate soldier in exchange for not reporting to command his alleged consumption of alcohol while on duty.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, in exchange for this money, they promised to “resolve the issue” without an official investigation or disciplinary action. Later, the amount of the bribe was reduced to 100,000 UAH, and they suggested transferring the funds via a courier service.

On May 23, after receiving the package, the suspects were detained. They were notified of the charges under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention with the option of bail.
