The Ukrainian Consulate in Antalya Has Been Upgraded to a General Consulate – Ministry of Foreign Affairs

During his visit to Turkey, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga inaugurated the consular office in Antalya, which has been officially upgraded to the status of a Consulate General. The office’s new status will expand opportunities to protect the rights of Ukrainians, strengthen interregional economic ties, and promote cultural projects.

This was reported by the Foreign Ministry’s press service, noting that the elevation of the diplomatic mission is a strategic step in the development of the Ukrainian-Turkish partnership.

The Foreign Minister also introduced Bohdan Konoplyastyi as Ukraine’s first Consul General in Antalya and presented state awards to Ukrainians and Turkish citizens for their solidarity in countering Russian aggression. While Ukraine is expanding its network of professional diplomatic missions to support its citizens abroad, Russia is witnessing the deterioration of its diplomatic corps, whose activities are increasingly reduced to spreading propaganda and confrontation with the international community. Expanding the presence in Antalya, which is an important economic and logistics hub, opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian businesses in the region.

The Cabinet of Ministers has reshuffled leadership at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Social Service. Some officials were dismissed, while new deputies and heads were appointed.

Sibiga thanked the Baltic countries for refusing to allow Fico’s plane to fly to Putin’s parade.
