Nearly 40,000 test-takers failed the math section of the 2026 National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT)
Mathematics turned out to be the most difficult subject on the 2026 National Multisubject Test. A total of 39,888 test-takers—12.1% of all those who took the test—failed to reach the passing score in this subject.
A total of 329,709 people took the NMT. At least 48,590 test-takers—or 14.8% of all participants—failed to meet the passing score in at least one subject.
By comparison, 6,217 people failed the Ukrainian language exam, and 1,283 failed the History of Ukraine exam. Thus, over 82% of cases where the passing score was not met were in mathematics.
At the same time, mathematics was among the subjects with the highest number of perfect scores. A total of 1,152 participants scored 200 points in this subject. Only English had more students with perfect scores—2,194.
In total, 4,324 participants in the 2026 National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) achieved a perfect score in at least one subject.

The Verkhovna Rada proposes retaining four subjects for the 2027 National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT-2027).
