The media were allowed to attend Verkhovna Rada committee meetings in person
Media representatives have been allowed to attend in person the meetings of parliamentary committees and temporary investigative commissions (TICs).
Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk approved the corresponding changes to the rules governing journalists’ work in the Verkhovna Rada during martial law.
Under the new directive, media representatives will be able to attend meetings with a one-time pass. To do so, they must be accredited by the Verkhovna Rada and have a written request from the chair of the committee, the TSC, or the head of their secretariat.
The document also provides for the possibility of conducting interviews with and filming members of parliament upon written request from the parliamentarian. At the same time, admission will be granted in compliance with security requirements and following approval by the Verkhovna Rada’s press service.
The number of media representatives allowed into the parliament building at any given time will be determined based on the number of requests submitted and security requirements. Requests to visit must be submitted no later than five days before the event.

Prior to this, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered Bill No. 15431, which provides for a large-scale reform of the hunting industry, the digitization of the sector, and changes to hunting regulations. At the same time, the bill has already drawn sharp criticism from animal welfare and environmental organizations, which are calling on members of parliament to reject it as early as the first reading.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada prematurely terminated the mandates of MPs Denys Maslov and Vitaliy Bezgin, who were members of the “Servant of the People” faction. Parliament adopted the relevant resolutions at a plenary session on July 17.
