Health officials have released the results of water quality tests at Ukraine's beaches
From July 30 to August 6, the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine tested 93 water samples from surface water bodies at the country’s beaches. According to the results of microbiological analyses, 10 samples (10.7%) did not meet the established standards for microbial contamination.
The water meets standards and is safe at the following locations:
• Kyiv: “Venice,” “Veselka,” “Molodizhny,” “Dytiachyi,” “Zolotyi,” “Peredmistna Slobidka,” “Tsentralnyi,” “Chortoryi,” “Telbin,” “Rainbow,” “Troieshchyna,” “Galernyi,” “Obolon Island,” “Verbnyi,” and “Pushcha-Vodytsia.”
• Odesa Region: Odesa’s seaside beaches (“Vidrada,” “Luzanivka,” “Arkadia,” “Delfin,” the 10th, 13th, and 16th stations of Velykyi Fontan) and “Central” Beach in Chornomorsk.
• Dnipropetrovsk Oblast: city beaches in Pavlohrad, Verkhnodniprovsk, Kamianske, Samara, and Zhovti Vody.
• Lviv Oblast: beaches in Zolochiv, Vereshchytsia, Peremyshlyany, Pidberiztsi, Korosne, Davydiv, and Stare Selo.
• Other regions: select beaches in Volyn Oblast (Kovel, Berestechko), Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv (Pervomaisk, Yuzhnoukrainsk, Kobleve), Poltava, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions.
Swimming is prohibited due to microbial contamination at the following locations:
• Lviv Oblast: Lake Zadorozhne (Stryi District).
• Zhytomyr Oblast: beaches in Zhytomyr’s Hydropark, as well as city beaches in Zviahel and Korosten.
• Mykolaiv Oblast: “Strilka,” “Chaika,” and “Namiv” beaches in Mykolaiv.
• Rivne Oblast: Lake Basiv Kut within the Rivne city beach.
In Kyiv, the results of the latest water quality inspection at municipal beaches were released.
The Public Health Center has published an updated list of beaches where water quality meets sanitary standards as of July 9.
