The Ministry of Defense has approved more than 1,100 new weapons models in the past six months
During the first half of 2026, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense codified and approved 1,184 new models of weapons and military equipment for use by the Defense Forces.
Most of them—over 90%—were manufactured in Ukraine, which indicates a growing share of domestically produced defense equipment in the army’s supply chain.
During the same period in 2025, the Ministry of Defense certified 765 models of weapons and military equipment, of which approximately 84% were Ukrainian-made.
This year, the Defense Forces’ arsenal was expanded with the latest models of armored vehicles and special armored cars, ammunition, unmanned aerial systems, communications equipment, electronic warfare/reconnaissance systems, ground-based robotic systems, multi-purpose vehicles, and more.
More High-Tech Weapons for the Defense Forces
In the first half of 2026, the largest number of high-tech military equipment models were standardized, meeting the requirements of modern high-intensity warfare. Most of them are manufactured in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense has codified and authorized the following for use by the Ukrainian Defense Forces:
391 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs);
216 types of ammunition;
128 communications devices;
67 special operations units;
56 electronic warfare/electronic countermeasures systems;
45 vehicles;
36 optical devices;
34 types of armored vehicles and special armored vehicles.
Eight types of small arms have also been codified.
Codification of non-lethal equipment: received by the military
In addition to the latest lethal weapons, the Ministry of Defense has approved for use a large number of domestically produced non-lethal military equipment models, which are essential for defenders to carry out their missions on the battlefield and in the rear.
The following have been approved for use by the Defense Forces:
24 domestically produced logistical support vehicles;
10 engineering tools;
8 maintenance equipment models;
3 models of radiological, chemical, and biological protection equipment;
3 simulators;
1 model for mine clearance.
