The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responded to the Detention in Poland of a Co-Owner of CEO Club Ukraine

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the case of the detention in Poland of Dmytro Karchuk, director of the CEO Club Ukraine business community, to whom consular officials are currently awaiting official access.

The detention took place on July 28 at the Budomierz border crossing based on a European arrest warrant issued by German authorities. Dmytro Karchuk is suspected of allegedly stealing 171 electric bicycles worth over 126,000 euros in 2024 by using forged transport documents.

Serhiy Haidachuk, founder and president of CEO Club Ukraine, stated that the arrest was the result of fraud involving Dmytro Karchuk’s personal data. According to him, at the time the crime was committed, the director was in Ukraine recovering from surgery, was using crutches, and does not have a license to drive the truck in which the goods were allegedly transported.

The Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin has sent an urgent request to the relevant Polish authorities to visit Dmytro Karchuk at the pretrial detention center in Przemyśl and is awaiting approval as soon as possible.

This was reported to journalists by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Ukrinform.

On the evening of August 1, in the town of Kozhukhiv (Lubusz Voivodeship), three Ukrainian citizens—37-year-old Volodymyr, 32-year-old Vasyl, and 28-year-old Adelina—were attacked. The incident took place on the private grounds of a hostel where the victims were staying.

In the Polish city of Gdynia, law enforcement officers detained a 76-year-old Polish citizen who brutally attacked a 40-year-old Ukrainian woman. According to the investigation, the man beat the woman with a stick, after which he was detained by criminal investigators from the local police department.

In Wrocław, a Ukrainian couple was brutally beaten because of their accent.
