Jesse Eisenberg was caught in Russian shelling during his visit to Ukraine
Hollywood actor Jesse Eisenberg experienced heavy Russian shelling during an unannounced visit to Ukraine.
He recounted the incident in a TSN news report. According to the TV channel, the star of the films “The Social Network” and “Now You See Me” visited a village in the Lviv region near the Polish border. The purpose of the trip was to participate in The Campfire Project, a charity initiative that supports children affected by the war.
During his visit, Eisenberg held a series of acting workshops for Ukrainian children. To prepare for the sessions, he spent a year learning the Cyrillic alphabet and how to read it.
The actor also said that he was awakened at night by an air raid siren, forcing him to go down to a shelter. According to him, in the morning he saw the aftermath of the Russian strike.
“We were woken up by the air raid siren, we went down to the shelter, and in the morning I saw the aftermath of the shelling. It was devastating, horrific, outrageous, and tragic. I thought: What if New York were bombed? What if my home were bombed? Because Lviv really reminded me of the city where I live,” Eisenberg said.
