In Bukovyna, trees fell onto a playground
A tragic incident occurred in the town of Novoselytsia, Chernivtsi District, due to deteriorating weather conditions.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Chernivtsi Oblast.
Due to strong gusts of wind, a large tree fell directly onto a playground where two young girls were playing at the time.
The injured children—born in 2014 and 2015—sustained serious injuries and required immediate medical attention.
Rescuers from the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Chernivtsi region quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance and clear the debris from the fallen tree.
Currently, both girls have been hospitalized in medical facilities in the cities of Chernivtsi and Novoselytsia.
Doctors assess the condition of one of the victims as critical due to multiple injuries. Experts note that the incident caught the children by surprise, leaving them no time to escape safely.
Doctors diagnosed one of the girls with severe multiple injuries requiring long-term treatment.
Specifically, the child was found to have a closed head injury, a concussion, as well as complex fractures of the arm and ankle joint with bone displacement.
