A locust infestation was successfully eradicated in the Kherson region
In the Novovorontsov community of the Beryslav District in the Kherson region, experts completely eradicated a population of migratory locusts that had been detected in late June on fallow land and in sunflower fields.
After two rounds of treatment of the areas with approved insecticides, a follow-up inspection on July 30 found no traces of the pest. Consequently, on August 5, 2026, the local military administration officially lifted the special plant protection measures.

The State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection announced the lifting of the special plant protection regime in the Zaporizhzhia region due to the absence of a threat of a mass locust infestation.
