A military plane crashed in the Khmelnytskyi region

A military aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force crashed today, June 16, in the Khmelnytskyi region near the city of Shepetivka. 

According to eyewitnesses, before the crash in the Shepetivka district, a distinct sound of the aircraft in flight was heard, followed by a powerful explosion, and videos from the scene of the incident began circulating online. 

At this time, official sources have not provided detailed information about the type of aircraft that crashed during the flight. Meanwhile, local communities speculate that a MiG-29 fighter jet may have been involved in the crash. Information regarding the exact causes of the crash, as well as details on the condition and fate of the crew, is currently being investigated and verified by the relevant authorities.

On July 22, 2025, while performing a flight mission in a Mirage-2000 fighter jet, a technical failure occurred, forcing the pilot to eject.

On May 16, 2025, contact was lost with an F-16 aircraft that was participating in the repulsion of an air attack. The fighter pilot ejected and was evacuated.
