In the Khmelnytskyi region, a court fined a dog owner for an attack on a goat
In the Khmelnytskyi region, a court found a man guilty of violating dog ownership regulations following an incident involving an animal. According to the case file, the dog bit a goat, requiring the animal to receive veterinary care and treatment.

A veterinary certificate listing the prescribed medications was presented as evidence in court. The owner was fined 1,700 UAH.
According to the case file, on the morning of May 15, the owner of a Jagdterrier failed to properly restrain his pet, which bit a goat in a field. As a result of this incident, the owner of the domestic animal suffered damages amounting to 1,500 UAH. The amount of damages is based on a veterinary certificate listing the medications used to treat the goat. Law enforcement officers provided this document to the court during the evidence-gathering process.
In court, the dog owner fully admitted guilt and expressed remorse for his actions.
The court confirmed the individual’s guilt and cited the law on the protection of animals from cruel treatment, which states: “A person who keeps a domestic animal is obligated to ensure the safety of surrounding people and animals, as well as property, from harm caused by the accompanied domestic animal.” To this end, the animal must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle.
In addition to the fine, the court confiscated the offender’s Jagdterrier dog. The dog’s owner must also pay 665.60 UAH in court fees.
