The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to evacuate residents from frontline areas in the Kharkiv region. The relief effort is focused on evacuating people from dangerous areas and providing for their basic needs in safer regions.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Red Cross.
According to the organization, the evacuation was carried out by the Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response teams in the Kharkiv region in cooperation with local authorities, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, emergency medical services, and humanitarian organizations. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) also joined the operation.
The evacuees were transported to a transit center in Kharkiv. There, they were provided with temporary shelter, humanitarian aid, and further support.
In addition, authorities in the Dnipropetrovsk region are implementing measures for the mandatory evacuation of residents from the most dangerous areas of the Nikopol district.
34 children remain in the Sloviansk area despite the evacuation
In the Kharkiv region, the mandatory evacuation zone has been expanded to include the Kupiansk district.
In Sloviansk, authorities also plan to implement the mandatory evacuation of children from the areas most affected by Russian shelling.
