Two border crossings in Lviv Oblast on the border with Poland are overwhelmed
A significant backlog of vehicles waiting to leave Ukraine has been reported at the Ukrainian-Polish border in Lviv Oblast. The 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment reported that the heaviest traffic is currently being observed at two border crossing points, urging travelers to take the situation into account when planning their trips.
For those leaving Ukraine:
- “Ugryniv” – 25 vehicles;
- “Hrushiv” – 35 vehicles;
- “Krakivets” – 100 vehicles;
- “Shehyni” – 50 cars, 3 buses;
- “Nyzhankovychi” – 10 vehicles.
Currently, the least congested border crossings for exiting Ukraine are “Rava-Ruska” and “Smilnytsia.”
To avoid long waits at the border crossing, we recommend choosing less congested crossings and crossing the border early in the morning or late in the evening.
You can find up-to-date information on border crossing congestion on the Facebook page of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment.
As a reminder, the EU is preparing measures to address border queues through a new entry system.
Earlier reports indicated that bus lines at the Ukrainian-Polish border are again reaching 8–12 hours due to infrastructure repairs. As of June 25, the Polish side is preparing measures to resolve the situation and reduce wait times for passenger transport.
Every day, about 100 people are denied exit from Ukraine, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
