A 21-year-old man will stand trial in Lviv Oblast for the rape of a 17-year-old girl
Prosecutors have filed an indictment against a 21-year-old resident of the Lviv region who is accused of raping a minor. According to the investigation, the man took advantage of the 17-year-old girl’s helpless state.
The incident occurred in mid-April at the defendant’s home, where he was with friends and the victim. The man knew that the girl was a minor.
According to investigators, after consuming alcohol, the girl fell asleep. While unconscious, she was unaware of what was happening and was unable to resist. After returning home, the victim realized what had happened; however, due to her severe psychological distress, she initially told the mother of a friend, who helped her contact law enforcement.
During the investigation, law enforcement also examined the possibility that drugs or toxic substances had been administered to the girl. Forensic tests did not detect any such substances in the victim’s blood.
The 21-year-old man is charged with the rape of a minor under Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
At the same time, the case materials regarding another individual who may have been involved in similar acts against the girl have been separated into a separate criminal proceeding. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
