A scheme involving the illegal appropriation of nearly 25 hectares of land was uncovered in the Odesa region
Law enforcement officials have exposed the head of a village council in the Odesa district and his accomplices for illegally seizing publicly owned land plots.
According to the investigation, starting in 2021, the official organized a scheme to appropriate agricultural land. He enlisted the help of a village council member who heads the relevant department, as well as other individuals from his inner circle.
As a result, the perpetrators managed to illegally distribute nearly 25 hectares of land, dividing it into 13 separate plots.
The losses incurred by the local community are estimated at approximately 1.8 million hryvnias.
The suspects face up to eight years in prison.
On April 21, the Security Service of Ukraine detained military personnel from one of the district territorial recruitment and social support centers in Odesa.
It is reported that the detention of the TCC representatives took place on Balkivska Street and involved a chase and gunfire.
