In the Poltava region, a train struck and killed a 23-year-old man

The tragedy occurred on the evening of September 15 in Lubny. An electric train on the “Poltava–Hrebinka” route struck a man who was walking along the railroad tracks.

The 23-year-old local resident died at the scene from his injuries. Preliminary findings indicate that he was wearing headphones at the time of the incident.

Investigators and forensic experts arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officials are determining all the circumstances of the incident and the reasons why the man ended up on the tracks.

In connection with the tragedy, authorities are considering entering the case into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of traffic safety rules or railway operation regulations.

As a reminder, the police have warned Ukrainians about fake fines for traffic violations.

Fines for speeding will increase sharply in Ukraine.

Over the past year, the number of reserved workers in Ukraine has increased significantly—by approximately 300,000 people—and the number of enterprises recognized as critically important to the economy has also risen. The government attributes these changes to the expansion of the “reservation” mechanism, particularly for frontline regions, and is preparing to update the relevant regulations.
