An earthquake was recorded in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The tremors were recorded on September 2 in the Pasichnyanska community area. According to experts, the earthquake occurred in the Nadvirna district. Its magnitude was 1.8 on the Richter scale, and the epicenter was located at a depth of about 6 kilometers. “On September 2, 2026, the Main Center for Special Monitoring recorded an earthquake in the Nadvirna District of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, Pasichna Territorial Community, with a magnitude of 1.8 (on the Richter scale), at a depth of 6 km,” the center reported.
The earthquake was not felt
Despite the fact that the tremors were recorded, residents of the region most likely could not feel them. The Main Center for Special Control noted that the earthquake was classified as imperceptible.
This means that its strength was too weak for people to notice ground vibrations without special equipment. Seismic stations can detect such weak tremors even when they go unnoticed by humans.
