In Rivne Oblast, a court sentenced a man who attacked servicemen from the Territorial Recruitment Center and damaged a service vehicle.

The incident occurred on March 28, 2025, near the village of Zahreblya in the Sarny district. Servicemen from the TCC, along with a police officer, were checking men’s military registration documents in a rural area and were returning to the village.

While driving, a Nissan X-Trail service vehicle was met head-on by a tractor driven by a local resident. According to the investigation, the man rammed the SUV twice, then struck it again from the side, attempting to push the vehicle into a ditch.

The damage to the service vehicle was estimated at over 80,000 hryvnias.

After the collision, the tractor driver got out of the cab and struck the platoon commander on the arm with a wooden plank. As a result of the attack, the soldier suffered a fracture of the ulna and other moderate bodily injuries.

The defendant also punched another soldier several times.

During the trial, the man admitted his guilt, expressed remorse, and apologized to the victims. He compensated one of the soldiers for the damages caused.

The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to three years of restricted freedom.

At the same time, the man was released from serving his sentence with a one-year probationary period.

The State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine suspended the management of the Odesa Detention Center from their duties for the duration of an internal investigation following the release of a video online showing unlawful actions against a detainee. According to the non-governmental organization “Non-Stop Ukraine,” the detention center director, together with investigator Serhiy Y., organized a money-extortion scheme under which every newly arrived inmate had to pay between $2,000 and $15,000, and those who refused were bullied by inmates in their care.

The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment with the court against three investigators from one of the departments of the Nikopol District Police Department for abuse of authority. They unlawfully detained and tortured two citizens.
