A scheme involving the illegal export of military equipment was uncovered in Rivne Oblast
The State Bureau of Investigations has uncovered and shut down an illegal scheme to smuggle military personnel out of a basic military training camp in the Rivne region. As a result, the organizer and two soldiers who used his services have been detained.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations.
A civilian man used his acquaintances and relatives to find servicemembers who wanted to leave the service. He instructed them on how and when to leave the training center’s territory, after which he picked them up by car and drove them home or to another location.
The cost of such a “service” was at least 5,000 euros per person; the organizer received the money in advance from the soldiers’ relatives. According to operational information, the scheme had been in operation since late 2025.
On the night of March 18, 2026, law enforcement officers detained the organizer during another attempt to transport a servicemember out of the training center. Another servicemember who had previously used the scheme was located at his place of residence.
The State Bureau of Investigation reported that the possible involvement of training center officials in the scheme is currently being investigated.

Two servicemen are suspected of desertion under martial law, and the civilian is suspected of organizing this crime. The penalty under this article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment.
Earlier, law enforcement officials uncovered and dismantled two channels for illegally smuggling men across the state border.
Additionally, a court ordered the seizure of over 48 million hryvnias from an official at the environmental inspection agency.
