More than 162 million hryvnias have been allocated for the restoration of housing and hospitals in Zaporizhzhia and Cherkasy regions

The government has allocated 162.7 million hryvnias from the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression to complete four reconstruction projects in the Zaporizhzhia and Cherkasy regions by 2026.

This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.

The funds will be used to complete the reconstruction of three apartment buildings—two in Zaporizhzhia and one in Uman—as well as to renovate the medical wing of the Zaporizhzhia City Hospital for Emergency and Ambulance Care.

One of the largest projects is the restoration of a building on Zestafonska Street in Zaporizhzhia, where two stairwells were completely destroyed following a Russian strike in October 2022. Currently, the project is 85% complete; once work is finished, 186 residents will be able to return to their homes.

Major repairs will also be completed on a building on Soborny Avenue in Zaporizhzhia, which was damaged by a missile strike in 2023. This will allow another 60 residents to return to their homes.

The reconstruction of the medical wing of the Zaporizhzhia City Emergency Hospital is intended to ensure the full operation of the departments, improve conditions for patients and staff, adapt the premises for people with limited mobility, and enhance the safety of the medical facility.

In the Cherkasy region, the reconstruction of an apartment building in Uman will be completed; the project is already 90% complete. After restoration, 217 residents will receive housing.

In total, the implementation of these projects will allow for the renovation of 187 apartments and the return of housing to over 450 residents.

The state program “eOselya” dominates the market and leaves no room for the development of market-based mortgages.

The National Bank of Ukraine has announced a change in its approach to implementing the “єОселя” program, which supports mortgage lending to citizens. The new mechanism is planned to be introduced in early 2026.
