Two smuggling routes to other countries were shut down in Zakarpattia: the "ticket" cost $8,000

Law enforcement officials uncovered and dismantled two smuggling rings that were illegally transporting men across the state border.

The operation was carried out by officers of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment in cooperation with the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the prosecutor’s office.

One of the organizers—a resident of Zakarpattia—attempted to smuggle a 29-year-old man from Odesa across the Tisa River. He promised to deliver the client directly to the border crossing point and priced his “services” at $8,000. The suspect was detained immediately after receiving the money.

Another scheme was organized by a resident of the Zaporizhzhia region. She planned to help a 24-year-old man from Volyn illegally leave the country—also for $8,000. She was detained in Uzhhorod.

Investigations are currently ongoing. Law enforcement officials are identifying all individuals involved in organizing the illegal smuggling schemes.

Additionally, a court ordered the seizure of over 48 million hryvnias from an official at the environmental inspection agency.
