MP Tishchenko posted 10 million hryvnia in bail in a bribery case
People's Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko posted 10 million hryvnias in bail, which the court had set as a pretrial measure in the case involving allegations of extortion.
According to his defense attorney, the bail has already been paid. He noted that the funds were contributed by Mykola Tyshchenko himself and another person whose identity is unknown to him.
“Based on the information I have, the bail has been paid. As far as I know, the money came directly from Mr. Mykola and a third party. I have no information about who that person is,” the attorney said.
At the same time, the defense attorney stated that a decision on whether to appeal the pretrial measure has not yet been made. He explained that the defense team received the full text of the High Anti-Corruption Court’s ruling only the day before, so they are currently reviewing the document.
Suspilne reported this, citing the lawmaker’s attorney.
As a reminder, new charges have been brought against incumbent MP Mykola Tyshchenko. According to the investigation, the charges relate to extorting $1 million for so-called “protection” of a call center’s operations, as well as laundering 12.6 million hryvnias through a fictitious gift agreement.
Tyshchenko arrived at court carrying a block of lard and a book by Plato.
