The NEURC proposes raising Ukrenergo's tariff effective July 1
The regulator is considering raising tariffs for NPC "Ukrenergo." According to a proposal by the NEURC, the new tariffs could take effect on July 1, 2026. The reasons for this and the potential impact on end prices for consumers are currently being clarified.
This information emerged from a NEURC meeting.
Specifically, the proposal involves raising the electricity transmission tariff to 903.53 UAH/MWh (here and below, excluding VAT), which is 21.62% higher than the current rate.
For “green” electrometallurgy enterprises, the electricity transmission tariff is proposed at 535.97 UAH/MWh—a 42% increase.
The dispatch tariff is proposed to be increased by 7.83% to 118.64 UAH/MWh.
Ukrenergo’s tariffs do not apply to residential consumers, and their revision will not affect electricity costs for the general public.
The company itself proposed increasing the transmission tariff by 29%, and for “green” metallurgy – by 53%. Ukrenergo proposed increasing the dispatch tariff by 55.5%.
The NEURC’s draft is preliminary and is still subject to final approval following discussions.
According to the Interfax-Ukraine agency, Ukrenergo cites several factors as grounds for revising the tariffs.
In particular, rising exchange rates are creating an additional financial burden on the company, including in the context of fulfilling special obligations under current legislation toward “green” generation, the price of which is fixed in euros.
The company also cites the revision of the Forecast Balance of the Ukrainian Power System (OES) through the end of this year as an important factor, where the projected volume of electricity generation is decreasing by 9.5%, and the projected volume of its transmission—by 5.5%.
Furthermore, according to Ukrenergo, the regulator’s liberalization of price caps effective May 1, 2026, increases the weighted average price of electricity as the basis for NEC’s settlements with other market participants.
