A National Guard officer is suspected of being involved in a scheme to travel abroad for $8,000
In Kharkiv, an officer on the staff of one of the Ukrainian National Guard’s rapid-response battalions was notified that he is suspected of organizing the illegal smuggling of a person subject to military conscription abroad.
According to the investigation, for $8,000, he promised to arrange a fictitious job for the man at a critical infrastructure facility, secure an exemption from mobilization for him, and arrange an official business trip abroad with the option of not returning to Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect on July 31 immediately after he received the money. During searches, they seized cash, cell phones, flash drives, rough notes, pistol magazines, and ammunition.
The court ordered the officer to be held in pretrial detention, with an alternative bail set at 166,400 UAH. The prosecutor’s office is appealing the amount of bail.

The SBU has notified a Russian intelligence officer of his status as a suspect for recruiting teenagers to carry out sabotage operations.
As a reminder, the SBU detained a woman suspected of working for Russian intelligence services.
