Ostap Stupka shared a rare photo with his girlfriend, who is 34 years younger than him
People's Artist of Ukraine Ostap Stupka was spotted with his girlfriend, theater critic Margarita Tkach. The 59-year-old actor tenderly embraced his 25-year-old partner, and the couple posted a photo together to celebrate Stupka’s birthday, which he celebrates on September 2.
“Thank you for being born,” Margarita Tkach wrote in a brief birthday message to her beloved. In the photo posted on Instagram, the couple poses side by side.
Stupka has his arm around Margarita’s waist, while she stands next to him and looks at the camera. For their public appearance, the theater scholar chose a form-fitting wine-colored dress and a gold belt, while the actor wore black pants and a dark shirt.
News of the romance between Ostap Stupka and Margarita Tkach broke in late 2024. At the time, the actor confirmed his relationship with his partner, who is 34 years his junior. According to the actor, they were “brought together by the theater.”
The couple’s relationship was not initially approved by the theater scholar’s family. Margarita said that her mother did not support her daughter’s choice and declared that she had “chosen the wrong man.”
At the same time, Margarita was able to find common ground with Stupka’s own mother. However, her first meeting with her future mother-in-law turned out to be quite awkward for her.
As Tkach recounted in November 2025, after a party, she and Stupka couldn’t find a taxi and decided to spend the night at his mother’s house. Both were tipsy, so the next morning, the theater scholar was quite embarrassed and didn’t even fully remember what they had talked about.
“Everything happened in a chaotic, unexpected, and very strange way. But after that, we started communicating normally,” Margarita recalled.
In particular, Ostap Stupka mentioned that he and his girlfriend often argue because of their differing views on marriage. Margarita made no secret of the fact that she would like to get married in the future, while the actor is in no hurry to enter into his fifth marriage.
“Margarita is making plans, but I’m not yet. This has led to some disagreements between us,” the actor admitted.
At the same time, Stupka didn’t rule out the possibility that he might get married again: “I’ve already been married four times; perhaps a fifth is ahead. Anything is possible.”
Incidentally, Ostap Stupka has been married four times. He has three children—a son, Dmytro; a daughter, Ustyna; and another son, Bohdan. According to the actor, he has managed to maintain good relationships with his ex-wives.
The Supreme Court ruled on Ostap Stupka’s case involving a drunk-driving accident.
The actor was subsequently notified that he was suspected of committing a crime—causing a traffic accident while under the influence of alcohol.
The actor himself is also dissatisfied with the court’s decision and called it unfair. In his opinion, a fine alone would have sufficed. Therefore, Stupka’s defense team plans to file an appeal.
As a reminder, last November, the Kyiv Court of Appeals upheld the sentence against Ostap Stupka, People’s Artist of Ukraine and leading actor at the Frank Theatre, who was accused of causing a traffic accident while intoxicated, resulting in serious bodily injury to the victim.
