Before the abduction of the Ukrainian Komarov in Bali, he had been under surveillance for a month

Bali police have determined that the kidnapping of Ukrainian citizen Igor Komarov was a carefully planned crime.

This was reported by Tribun-Bali.

According to the investigation, the suspects began following the man about a month before the kidnapping.

Cameras captured several foreigners conducting reconnaissance near the villa where he lived, using various modes of transportation.

Law enforcement officials describe their actions as a “stakeout”—the suspects took turns tracking the victim’s movements.

A week before the kidnapping, they rented a car using forged passports.

After the crime, Komarov was transported between several villas, switching vehicles.

Traces of blood were found at one of the locations, and the DNA matched that of the victim’s family.

Igor Komarov, whom the media refers to as the son of an influential businessman from Dnipro, disappeared on February 15, 2026, near the village of Jimbaran. Subsequently, horrific video footage began to appear online: in the footage, a beaten Komarov begged his relatives to transfer $10 million for his release.

The prolonged search for 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen Igor Komarov ended with official confirmation of his death. The results of the forensic medical examination and DNA analysis conducted at the National Forensic Center in Jakarta proved that the dismembered remains found on February 26 near Ketewel Beach belonged to him.
